Looking at the specs, no question it will run your day-to-day humdrum, right? Web Surfing, Office, Heavy Photo Editing, Streaming Video - all handled effortlessly. Heavy 4k video rendering might be the only area where you may have to wait a bit for results, but 1080p YouTube level videos a snap.
I've done some retro gaming on it as well. Civilization VI (from 2016) + all the bonus content running for hours without a hitch.
As more software engineers allow for local NPU use within AI enabled apps over time, the speed of heavy lifting may actually reduce for some applications like DaVinci Resolve, Premier Pro, Design apps, or Photoshop.
Here's where it gets interesting - Running AI applications locally. No internet, no third-party scraping your data, seeing your queries, examining your documents. Privacy and computational power all rolled together.
Ever want to ask AI something in private? Impossible online. There is no expectation of privacy in public. We all know this. I ran sanity checks on the process. Results with internet connection cut off. Useful results. After every instance of use is ended, the memory is flushed. The local AI does not remember past sessions, it can't report anywhere other than the instance it is currently running. Turn your internet off, dive as deep as you want into an inquiry and then flush the system when you close the AI application. Privacy retained.
With this machine I was able to setup running an off-line LLM relatively easily via LM Studio. I have successfully run the uncensored "Dolphin 3.0 - Llama 3.1" model with 8 billion parameters for a few sessions prior to writing this review.
In my example (see pics), I dropped a document into the prompt field to use RAG: Retrieval-Augmented Generation. The AI model analyzed the document and generated a 456-word response in about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Not a terrible speed by any means, as you will know if you've queried online AI in any depth. As the originator of the creative writing document, I can attest to the accuracy and insight of the analysis. And this, just using the GPU. I'll work next to get the NPU involved - and maybe some trainability & persistence of memory across sessions. Progress so far is highly pleasing on running PRIVATE AI locally.
Another use I've tested is image generation. Again, all locally on the machine. No third-party snooping. No giving up of any rights to the generated works back to the online AI. No bothersome watermark. (See pics.)
Using the OpenVINO AI Plugins for GIMP I can now generate as many images as I want. No "tokens" to expend, no timeouts. Unlimited generation off any prompt so you maximize your chance to generate just what you intended. Refine your prompt as much as you want and just keep generating to your heart's content.
For the OpenVINO plugins I was easily able to get the NPU involved. Using the "Balanced" Power Mode gets the GPU and NPU to work in tandem sharing the load. Even increasing the default 20 Inference Steps to 35 Inference Steps per image, I can generate images in about 30 seconds an image. Again, not a bad speed having used online image generation.
Private, useful and powerful AI. That is a Fan-Frickin-Tastic game changer. Especially if you want to RAG your documents without leaking private information. Or if you want to (responsibly) query an AI without the guiderails or without inherent bias.
Did I mention how quiet and cool this thing runs? Even with AI running full speed on the GPU/NPU there is zero fan noise and the vents on the back are blowing lukewarm at most. GREAT value for all this esthetically pleasing little box can do. Windows 11 Pro is running like a champ. Office 2019 banging away. Competent for any task and ready to bring your computing into the future.
The only quibble? Could use a built in SD card slot. But, hey, everything else is very modern and ready to rock & roll. Plenty of high-speed ports to spare for all but the most gadget laden setups. Compatible and capable with any modern software. May not be ready for current AAA game titles, but the ARC graphics are up to snuff for retro gaming.

I bought my second one in 2 months and we are extremely satisfied with it.
Perfect choice for home and office use. Long-term usability and support thanks to the new generation Intel Ultra processor, which contains Intel ARC GPU and AI NPU core. 8K youtube videos work perfectly on a 4K monitor. Adobe PS, AI, ID, LR are no problem.
It fits in a very small space, I have a Mac mini M4 working together. Very cute! Wifi 1000Mb up and down. (That's my bandwidth) We haven't heard its sound yet. My wife has already taken it to work a few times just in her bag. She loves not having to carry a laptop.
In Hungary, a laptop with exactly the same features would cost more than twice as much! (approx. 1,200 USD) We added a 27" 4K LG monitor and a Logitech keyboard for 210 USD.
So it's perfect.
I think Beelink will go far in the future because in all its products you can see the logical and rational effort to develop and produce ever better devices.
