Mr Beelink brought me a dream

This is my first NAS experience. I've been looking to join this select club for quite some time, but I was skeptical because the nature of my job keeps me constantly moving from country to country. The ME Mini was a blessing! Small, compact, barely a sound footprint, just perfect! Many of my techy friends were a bit skeptical about the processor. I think it's still too early to say, but if I have the perfect NAS and I can prove them wrong, this device has paid its weight in gold. My only gripe with it is the eMMC. I intended to use TrueNAS scale, using the eMMC for the OS and slowly populate it with NVMe, but I could not get the installation to proceed on the eMMC. I found this to be very frustrating. I got a smaller NVME just for the OS, and hence I'm already one slot down. However, it has worked great.

Excellent device for the price and footprint

I bought the Beelink ME mini for a few reasons. Firstly, i'm a traveler and having to load up all my data onto my laptop is both slow and cumbersome (if i need to access or process a file I need to switch on my laptop and go through that whole process). Second, I wanted a second device for redundancy in case my main NAS full of HDDs went down for any reason. Third, when not traveling, I wanted to keep this on 24/7 as my main NAS/home server to lower energy use (and noise), and keep the big, older HDD NAS as cold storage.

I am using it with unraid (with plex, paperless-ngx, deluge torrent client, steam headless only for downloading, and zoneminder) and it's working perfectly.

The Beelink ME mini shines in all these cases but it is also just extremely practical. the small footprint with an integrated power supply means it can be carried in any small trolley bag or shoved in any cupboard or bookshelf. With 6 M.2 Slots it has plenty of capacity except for the biggest of data hoarders.

The device comes preloaded with Windows 11, and it worked well enough out of the box but it's not something I used enough to review. Also, my usage is quite light, and does not exceed 1Gb network transfers with very light CPU load. Therefore, my usage did not stress the device in any way.

Finally, the price is also excellent. For someone like me, there was no other device in the competition that could provide the right mix of price, capacity, and small volume for what i would call a portable, efficient, mini NAS box.

Fantastic little machine

im running the 16gb version with proxmox as my homelab/nas/router with a 10gbe m.2 card plus a 8 sata drive m.2 and 4tb nvmes in the remaining 4 slots plus 2 usb hubs in the usbports and this crazy setup actually works flawlessly! love it!

Wow, your setup sounds like a beast! 16GB Beelink ME mini running Proxmox with all those drives and USB hubs—sounds like you built a mini data center at home!
