Initially, the docking station failed to recognize the 5090, but after several attempts and some trial and error, I discovered that the power cable was the issue. Once I purchased a compatible power cable, I successfully got the 5090 to be recognized.
Due to potential cable burning issues and the 600W power limit of the EX PRO docking station, I undervolted the 5090 for better stability.
I'm very pleased that the performance hit is much smaller than expected.
One slight disappointment was that it was quite difficult to find a 2x8-pin to 16-pin adapter power cable suitable for connecting a high-end GPU like the 5090.
In the future, it would be great if adapter cables for high-end GPUs could be provided as an additional option for the docking station.

By going to this form factor instead of a high-end laptop, I reckon I saved about a thousand dollars in terms of what it would have cost for similar RAM and a similarly sized SSD duo.
I loved that I took it out of the box, plugged in my existing docking port (CalDigit TS3 Plus) with my mouse, keyboard, monitor, headset, webcam, and wacom tablet - and it just worked at first boot. I don't think I have every had a setup proceed so easily.
The machine is fast and exceptionally quiet. I never hear the fan running. In time, I will explore the AI capabilities and buttons but for now, I am very pleased.
Also, I was able to retire the TS3 Plus docking port because these machine has sufficient connectivity to handle all of my peripherals.
It boots quickly and just works. Exactly what I wanted in a new computer while getting one of the fastest processors, a generous helping of RAM, and enough SSD space to keep things not just in the cloud, but locally.
