After a week it is too early to pass full judgement, but so far this seems to be a terrific little machine.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Windows 11 bundled with the PC. This is nowhere mentioned in the ads or the specifications, and saved me a lot of hassle.

I've purchased SER8 through Amazon, and initially was pleased with the performance. However, once I attempted to connect my Bluetooth controller ( 8bitdo pro 2 ) it became apparent that the Bluetooth signal at the distance of about 10-12 feet was very poor.
I've removed the metal wire mesh (dust filter) in the attempt to expose the internal antenna a little bit more. I think it helped but the signal was still unreliable.
Eventually I have purchased an external WiFi antenna from Amazon. Unfortunately SER8 does not have external antenna connectors, so I have the IPEX cable with a "stick-on" antenna running directly from the wifi card, out and just hanging behind the cabinet on which it sits.
Antenna was cheap, about $10 US, and I had to drill a small hole/opening in the plastic bottom of the SER8 to let the wires out.
With this modification the signal is strong and I have no issues using my Bluetooth controller now. The setup is fiddly as the connectors on the WiFi card are tiny and the quality of the Amazon cables and their connects is inconsistent ( I had to return one as it simply did not want to click onto the board).
Aesthetics of the unit did not suffer in my case as the unit sits in such a way that the wires coming out of it are not visible, Obviously your case will be different.
If you sit right next to the unit, then the signal should be good enough. But if you are planning to utilize this as a living room, gaming pc and need more distance for the signal, be aware of the Bluetooth issues.
I received the barebones SER8 8845HS, and it was easy to open and upgrade. I was impressed with the ease of installing a Qualcomm NCM865 WiFi 7 card, a Solidigm P44 Pro 2TB NVME drive and Crucial T500 4TB NVME drive, and two Crucial 48 GB DDR5/5600 memory modules for a total of 96 GB. The included heatsink works very well, keeping the temperatures of both drives consistently at 35-36 degrees Celsius. The system runs fast and smooth, and it's one of the nicest-looking mini-PCs I've seen. I'm delighted with this build!

The Beelink SER8 Mini-PC offers good value for money. It is small and relatively quiet. So far I am very satisfied with its performance. The SER8 has replaced a large desktop computer. It's amazing that such a small device can do so much more than a much larger desktop computer and still work so quietly.
I am replacing a large workstation that was heating up my entire office room and so far I have not noticed any drawbacks to this tiny machine which is smaller than my router let alone the huge desktop I had. As everyone has pointed out Wifi is not great at all, luckily I can go wired straight to the router, but that could be a real issue for someone else. The other one is why on earth do they not offer a 64GB version of this? I would have paid more money for a version with higher RAM for sure.
